Housing near Meta’s Hyperion data center in Holly Ridge

Unincorporated Holly Ridge, Richland Parish, along I-20 / US-80 in northeast Louisiana. Meta announced a deepening of its Richland Parish investment in July 2026, describing a $50 billion-plus campus and more than 7,500 construction jobs at peak, plus about 1,000 operational roles. General contractors named by Meta are DPR Construction, Turner and Mortenson. Local officials told The Advocate in August 2026 that about 8,000–10,000 workers are on site now, in a parish of about 19,500 people. Meta has described reaching 2 GW around 2030 and 5 GW around 2032; local reporting has said the campus is scheduled to be fully operational in 2036. (Meta announcement)

Crews working for DPR Construction, Turner or Mortenson — or their subcontractors — use the same housing market as everyone else on site: open RV parks and rentals, plus contractor-assigned camps. See our guide for DPR, Turner and Mortenson crews.

Drive times are rough one-way estimates for normal traffic, not measured routes. Shift-change traffic around the Holly Ridge gate, weather, and which entrance you use can add a lot. Sheriff Neal Harwell told The Advocate the site sees 5,000–7,000 vehicles a day.
